Pros: its an enterprise spinning drive that does what it says. not ssd but doesnt have to worry about wearing out. Cons: not an ssd Overall Review: this is to balance the previous review, as the previous reviewer clearly mis represented the product and himself. buying this drive to put in a macbook is clearly the fault of the buyer and not of the drive , Newegg Clearly states that the drive is an Enterprise drive. Additionally you stated that your tech knowledge is (5) High, this clearly…

Pros: So far it boots a lot faster than my WD Caviar Black 1Tb. It runs at 34* C when writing and reading my installations after boots. Runs 34-37* when playing games. Solid construction. Cool looking. It runs as loud as the Caviar Black 1Tb. Cons: None so far. Overall Review: I plan on buying a second one of these and an ssd so that I can have a safer and higher performance disk drives through raid configurations. These would be excellent. They read fast and stay cool

Pros: only way to get SAS-like performance in a low-end server with Intel or other host-RAID controller that only supports SATA. Also, consumes less power than a comparable SAS drive. Cons: costs more than the model with heatsink kit? I’m guessing this has to do with expected warranty claims as these bare drives are likely to be subjected to heavier use and potentially not cooled as well. Overall Review: if you’re buying this for your workstation, you need to have a fan-cooled hard drive…

Pros: Not expensive, FAST!!!, does what it says on the label. Low DOA rate, in my experience. Cons: Doesn’t automatically install itself. Has no feet or hands. Overall Review: I’ve been working as a programmer and system manager for over 25 years. When I say I’ve got “5 – High” tech knowledge, I’m not full of hot air. If you can’t be bothered to read the specs, you should expect to be disappointed with the results you get. Look, the industry is moving to the 2.5″ format. It allows for more…

Pros: Have purchased 5 of them exclusively for boot drives. Purchased them for business hence they do not show up on my personal account. They are quite awesome for a boot drive (read other…) No problems with the Raptors what so ever, no bad sectors, not DOA, all work as expected. All passed my rigorous 24h stress test with flying colors…! I torture new mechanical drives with ‘butterfly’ reads/writes for 24h, then run extended surface scans before declaring them good to use for…

Pros: Almost as small as an ssd, 10,000 RPM, 1TB, 49.99. I will take two thank you very much! Cons: none Overall Review: Highly recommend high performance, reliability, and small form factor. Do not put in laptop!

Pros: Best non-SSD Makes a lil spool-up noise when waking (yes, I do like it) Cons: Produces more heat than other conventional drives Makes muffled old-school nut-grinder noises when accessing data (not silent) Overall Review: Faster, and smaller format than other conventional HDDs It’s the last (and the peak) of the spinny’s.

Pros: Timely plannedemic shipping not withstanding from other than the egg. Waited a long time for this ‘special’. This makes about #14 WD Raptor purchased. Except for an ssd there is probably no better on the market….still using a variety of 75-500gb WDs purchased over the past 20 years. Only two have ever failed. Read many reviews about how it could be used/refurbed. Well it may be 4/15 manufacture but arrived in OEM packing (ie plastic end caps, factory seal static bag). Looks puuurtee…
