Overall Review: This is my first experience with mesh networks and I am not a power user, just a regular guy stuck working from home sharing the internet with family, who are also stuck working from home. All I can say is, there was a noticeable improvement in speeds throughout the house once we set this up. Set-up is simple. You do it through an app. The hardware itself takes up very little space and everyone in the house thinks they look cute. I love not having to switch between different extenders now, it’s all automated now by having a mesh network. Maybe down the line if we decide to upgrade our internet service or something, I’ll look into upgrading this system but for now, it more than satisfies all our needs.

Pros: With so many more devices connected to the internet because of the pandemic, this whole house router has made such a difference in the ability to stay connected! We don’t have a large house, but we had spotty wifi even before Covid19. Not any more. Now if only our internet supplier would be so reliable! Cons: The convenience of the app to connect and monitor the devices is great, but it made it very challenging to set up, since our cell reception is nonexistent inside our home without wifi. Had to keep running inside and out to set it up. But that is not a problem caused by this product. Overall Review: I would heartily recommend this product to others.

Pros: — easy setup — stable — long range — can monitor “off site” Cons: — units somewhat large (NOT for ceiling or wall install) — app will not run on PC — MUST configure through a TPLink account Overall Review: After putting in several of these, I find them easy to use and VERY useful. The last set was used to extend a wireless signal from the far corner of a church to the sanctuary. Of course the signal isn’t infinite, so stay within the area as manufacturer states. Since they didn’t want their original wireless touched, I have the S4’s off a switch connected to an existing “home” router, and the other units zig-zagged in side rooms. It created a 30+db improved signal where we needed it. What surprised me is the (limited) remote management off site. I was alerted of a firmware update even when physically not in range. Firmware takes about 5 minutes of downtime and went flawlessly. You can also see if the system is online and the relative strength of wireless reception of each module. For clients who want to manage their network, use THEIR information to set up the TP Link account. However, you can also designate “managers” after installation for the account using their email. Alternately, you may have to either physically connect to the main router and use the built in web interface, or reset (1 sec push on bottom of S4 units) and reset up. You can set up multiple TPLink networks with one account easily. The S4 is supposed to be “Alexa enabled.” There are some intriguing skills to use, like turning on/off WiFi to devices by name, setting time limits, activating WPS, and changing QoS by voice through your Alexa device (not the routers directly).

Pros: – Fast to setup – range seems good Cons: -does not allow you to change the ip address, if you have devices on your LAN you will not be able to talk to them – uses an app to configure. i like the control of a gui on the router Overall Review: – i would not recommend simply because you cannot configure the ip address on the system.

Pros: Cheap option to extend your WiFi Signal. Cons: Maybe the need to use an App to setup. But easy. Overall Review: Great Quality

Pros: Using this system with an 8 port gigabit switch. Installation was super easy. Range of wifi is good enough I only needed to setup 2/3 devices to get full wifi across the property. Works perfectly for primary and guest network isolation. Cons: I hardlined the second unit but unsure if its using the ethernet or just repeating the wifi. Definitely buy a switch of you have multiple hardlined devices. I HATE that it can only be setup via the app. Theres no ip address for manual configuration and the setup options are lacking compared to traditional routers. This BIGGEST unholy mistake here is. Your HARDWARE will cease to work when they stop supporting the SOFTWARE. So I will not be surprised if a few years down the road I am replacing the entire system because the APP to setup and control it is no longer supported. Overall Review: I have already recommended the system to a friend to extend his home wifi into his garage. Hopefully we arnt replacing them in a few years because the APP disappears
