Pros: Good deal in terms of price per GB. Cons: This is the “clickiest” notebook drive I’ve heard in a long time. Even during sequential reads/writes it frequently makes loud clicking sounds, even louder than a desktop hard drive near the end of it’s life. It sounds like someone standing over your shoulder and smacking their lips. Drive seems to be working fine and passes all SMART tests, but that clicking makes me really nervous as it usually indicates a drive is about to fail.

Pros: Put two of these in a small raid box, and am pleased so far. Very quiet, cool, plus verified with Toshiba warranty site these have a full three-year warranty. The manufacture date was less than one month before I received these. Cons: Didn’t get them on “super-saver” – and there are no 2tb drives in 2.5″ thinner than 15mm – Raid box won’t hold those. Pros: Works exactly as expected, tremendous value for the buck. Only took ten minutes to install in HP-dv-7 lap top. Cons: The physical install was quick & easy. Overall Review: TIP: POP for the Windows 8 upgrades rather than installing earlier versions. My Windows 7 systems restore w/ updates took five hours. Pros: as mentioned in the title, its quiet and fast. Installed in my MacBook Pro along with an SSD. Read and write speeds seem fast, and the price seems fair. I actually have two of these, one which came out of a Toshiba Canvio 3.0 portable hard drive I bought from my local store with Mart in the name. Pros: Got this to replace my Toshiba 320gb hard drive since it went bad after 4 years and its been solid replacement. The ps3 slim had no trouble recognizing the hard drive. Make sure that you have the latest firmware update on a flash drive or external hard drive that’s FAT32 since you will need it when the ps3 is formatting your new hard drive. You can get the latest firmware from http://www.playstation.com With the 500gb hard drive after formatting I got 412gb/500gb to work with. Cons: None so far

Pros: It seems to be working quite well in a Mac mini, along with an SSD. Since the SSD has the OS and apps, this Toshiba is for data. Therefore, capacity is the key feature, not pure speed. And 1TB is a lot of storage for a 2.5-inch “laptop” drive. Thankfully, it seems to run cool. When I was testing it in an open external drive case (before taking apart the Mac mini), it barely got warm to the touch. And it is also very quiet. Price is excellent. Pros: Size for the price. Cons: Died in a month. Had to rush to fix it for my customer. Ended up costing me money replacing it through toshiba acclaim. Got the replacement but I am hesitant to install it. So I bought a WD 1tb locally. Overall Review: Probaby not going to use it. if I do, its going to be an external storage only.
