Pros: If you want to have a social life. I start this game up in the morning and all the sudden i get up to get some food and its dark out again. What day is it? Cons: none. Ignore the title and buy this game.

Pros: I did not think it was possible to make Civilization 5 more addictive and entertaining. This addition brings a whole new level of play and makes online play far more entertaining. I have been a fan of Sid Meier for the last 30 years, I played the original board game, then the first computer version, and every iteration since. If you are a Civ fan and want to basically destroy all of your free time, pick this up, it is a refreshing modification to the traditional play and adds several new political aspects to the game. Cons: This game will turn you into a shut in and you will starve to death because you want one more turn before going and seeking sustenance…

Pros: I don’t know how it happened, but this expansion makes Civ V enjoyable adds a lot of new features and complexity that Civ V was sorely missing. completely revises culture including drastically changed requirements for a culture victory (its no longer insultingly easy) and tweaked social policy trees. Diplomatic victory has also been changed drastically as well. Victory is no longer randomly determined by dopey AI controlled city states late in the game, instead you now must ally with city states in order to gain votes used in the world congress. product is a steam code. the ‘for mac’ has no bearing on what platform the DLC is for. Cons: if you’re familiar with Civ V’s criticism as the game being intentionally released unfinished and selling off what should have been core features later on as DLC, that’s exactly what BNW is… Overall Review: Bought Civ V on sale a long time ago. Like anyone else who is a fan of the Civ series, I hated it immensely. Vanilla Civ V is so dumbed down and emaciated content wise compared to previous entries in the series, that its like a bad joke. Likewise, G&K was a feeble addition to an already embarrassing game. The addition of religion and espionage were so rudimentary, minor, and basic that it hardly felt like it truly added anything meaningful. Brave New World somehow changes everything and makes Civ V a brand new game. Its left me with the feeling that this expansion includes everything that Civ V was originally supposed to have. Basic things like trade. A more common sense approach to culture with tourism and works of art. A diplomatic UN victory that isn’t based on random AI anymore. Lots of things including the seemingly bugged AI behaviors. In BNW, the AI controlled civs tend to have personalities they stick with. Before its like they had schizophrenia. BNW adds a serious level of depth that really wasn’t there before. It actually requires some thinking ahead and strategizing now if you play normal difficulty. Prior, it was easy to just click on whatever and you’d still wind up on top quickly running out of buildings to build because there were so few of them to make. Now its easy to run out of turns without hitting all the scientific advances for a space victory. Personally, with BNW I love Civ V now. Its definitely worth checking out. Having put in several hundred hours after getting BNW, I know for certain it fixes a lot of the problems Civ V started with. It might not top Civ IV as far as best in the series go, but at least BNW makes the game a lot more fun to play.
