Overall Review: This is an ideal hard drive for either MacOS or Windows OS. I reformatted it so it would have much greater capacity on MacOS. I gained approximately 850GB! Seriously, This 2TB HD only had 1.15TB capacity out of the box! Also, out of the box, folders did not show the number of files or the file sizes. Now that is solved. I formatted as APFS. I connect via USB 3.0 & my photos upload & download quickly. I am connected to a Mac Pro Desktop. This is a rugged, extremely well built…

Pros: Fast simple to use, can use with USB and C Cons: None yet Overall Review: I replaced an older external drive with this one. The thing that stood out was the speed differential between the two drives.

Cons: Very expensive. Runs very hot vs. other ssd portable drives, and the rubber shell makes it impossible to assist the cooling. The speed of this drive over USB 3.0 was considerably slower than other normal portable ssd’s costing 1/3 the amount. I bought into the NVMe marketing, since my on-board NVMe drives are very fast (2,000 Mb/s). This drive struggled to write at 200Mb/s, and then choked down to 40Mb/s writes. I have two other ssd’s that run at 220 Mb/s for huge writes. I have never…

Pros: Works fine on my iMac 2017, going through an old Belkin USB-C “hub” (fans out 1 USB-C port to 2, plus a couple other ports). I needed to replace an aging HDD used for my photos and other occassionally-written files. Cons: Runs mildly warm, so leave airspace around it. Overall Review: This is my second, the first being an old 2GB model.
