MSI Optix MAG301CR2 30″

Pros: -the stand is sturdy enough to have little wobble -colors are really good -the led is not that distracting for the power and the black red stripes -bezels are small enough to not be a annoyance with a triple monitor setup -great price for a curved monitor that I could find with 144 hertz -back button controls is really easy to use Cons: -the quality control of this monitor is pretty bad (explain in other) but not worth two eggs off for me -the crosshiar buttin did not work but i think that is my fault for having a nividia card instead of a amd card -the cable managment loop on the back comes off really easy and fell like you are about to break it trying to put it on. Overall Review: I bought three of these so I can have a tri monitor setup and all of them have something wrong with them. The first one that got had a small hole in the screen in the top right of the screen. the second one that I received had a pixel that was stuck to green. and all of stands that the three monitors had all have a different max height. so with all of these defects I had they are not returnable to me because of how tiny they are to me. but if you plan on buying this just have this purchase that I had in your mind.

Pros: -Nothing close to 21:9 2k @ 100hz at this price point, at least $70-100 cheaper. -Gameplay is smooth and screen real estate is just wow. -Everyone that has come over since I bought this a few weeks ago has had to pick their jaw off the floor. Cons: -Colors seem a little bright. -Unfortunately, I have to RMA this one, as it makes very loud crackling and popping sounds. Even unplugging the monitor from the wall, it will take several minutes before the crackling dies down. It is so loud I hear it over game sounds. Sounds similar to Rice Krispies, but much louder. Overall Review: I’m hoping I don’t trade this in for something with a dead pixel, as this unit has a flawless screen with no backlight bleed nor stuck/dead pixels. But the loud crackling sound is driving both my spouse and I nuts, even when you turn it off for the night. Will change review to 5 stars if I get a unit with the same perfect screen and not forced to listen to a Rice Krispy Symphony.

Pros: – Vesa Mountable, which is awsome. Doubt i’ll mount it tho, the stand is nice. – Stand is metal, which I appreciate. Adjustments are easy to make and aren’t too stiff. – Very little backlight bleed, hardly noticeable – Came with the response time set to “Fast” out of box Cons: – RGB kinda pointless as it’s not super bright Overall Review: I’ve had it exactly for 1 hour at this point, and so far enjoying it. Everything looks nice and crisp, and was well calibrated out of box, altho it needed some minor adjustments. (Brightness was a bit low). The backlight bleeding is super minimal, and isn’t really that noticeable to the eye. Had to set my phone to 500ms shutter speed just to capture what i did. It’s only across the bottom, but again isn’t that bright or noticeable. The stand is made of metal, and the adjustments are easy,. If you were to pick it up by the monitor itself, you’ll end up adjusting the height of it instead of lifting it off the table, but it’s firm enough to keep it’s position, lol. Has *some* motion blur when under 100hz, and it’s making me nauseous, but then again i’ve only ever played on a either a 4k TN panel, or a 1080p 144hz TN panel, both a 1ms response time, and neither have any motion blur. I suspect that it’ll take some adjusting.to. Overall image quality is great. Not the absolute greatest of all time, but it is pretty decent. Color tone out of box is pretty neutral, and the backlight was a little dim, but other than that the colors seem to be accurate and aren’t far off my previous Samsung QLED monitor. RGB on the back seems a bit pointless seeing as how it’s not bright enough for even a dark room unless it’s RIGHT against the wall, but even then.

Pros: Rich colors, comparable with my Asus ProArt ISP panel, however, unlike the Asus, it has absolutely no backlight bleeds. I didn’t notice any “VA smudging” when playing AC: Valhalla on Ultra. Free-Sync works with no troubles. Text in Windows is crisp and well visible without scaling. Nice and clean design. Plug and play. Sturdy, easy to setup. Good picture right outside of the box. Decent brightness but not super bright, for playing in a dark room it’s perfect. Good packaging on all sides. No dead pixels on my model. Very responsive, can’t notice any input lag. Cons: The cable it came with is a bit short. The power cable is good but depending on your setup, you may want to invest in a longer cable for the video. I think it came with a display port cable, but I may be wrong. I had a 10 feet display port cable ready especially for it, so the original cable was left in the box. The RGB in the back looks nice but then I don’t really look at it’s back. It’s more of a gimmick, not very bright, so won’t light up the wall behind the screen unless it’s white and it’s dark in the room otherwise. Not really a con, but may be worth mentioning. Overall Review: This monitor has exceeded all my expectations and I am absolutely happy with the purchase. Can’t imagine anything better at 34” for this price. MSI has done great with this one!
