Pros: All of the features on the motherboard, to which I have connected, have functioned properly. The UEFI BIOS has many useful options, including a search tool to help you find what you are looking for. Cons: The three x4 (short) expansion slots and the lower M.2 drive slot are PCIe 3.0 (not PCIe 4.0) even if a 3rd gen AMD Ryzen CPU is used. According to the specs shown in the Owner’s Manual, the upper x4 expansion slot will be unavailable if the middle x4 slot is occupied. The right-hand…

Pros: -Lots of SATA ports -Supports Ryzen 3000 series out of the box -Well laid out Cons: -MSI customer service is useless – 2 of the 6 SATA ports run from a buggy ASMedia ASM1061 controller, idiotically put as the FIRST 2 SATA ports Overall Review: I bought this and planned on using it as a dual boot Linux/Windows box. (Linux for 90%+ and Windows for when I have no choice.) I basically had it sitting on the ground for months because I had a devil of a time getting Linux to boot. MSI’s…

Pros: Price, Design, Detailed instructions and love the EZDiagnostics (allowed me to easily discover a poorly slotted RAM module) Cons: Not really a con, but was an issue for me.. SATA slots. Comes with six, my last MSI board had 8. I mirror my drives so I was short one slot for my BluRay player. Overall Review: This is my 6th or 7th MSI board having had some bad experiences many years ago with other brands. I guess I’ve become an MSI fanboy in regards to boards since they’ve never let me…

Pros: The board works. With the Ryzen 7 3800X, I am able to use my old G.Skill 3600MHz CAS15 RAM to its full ability without effort. Cons: If you didn’t read this enough, AVOID using SATA ports 1 and 2. As much as the drives work, I have discovered there is an issue with installers involving the LAN and GPU drivers. If you have a drive connected to either of these ports, the LAN or GPU driver installers can lock up your PC during the hardware detection phase, eventually causing the PC to…

Pros: -Good price for performance -AMD Ryzen 3000 ready -Easy to upgrade from previous motherboard. Cons: -ASMedia ASM1061 controller on first two SATA plugs. Overall Review: Bought this to upgrade from my AM3+ socket to the AM4 and all the new features that brings. That being said, I’m no enthusiast by any means. However, when I got everything up and running I noticed that Windows took an extra minute or two to fully boot up. My previous build, that I upgraded from, took maybe 15 seconds…

Pros: Great manual Timely response from MSI support, though just email Cons: Box was missing M2 screws (and I did check the spacer caps) Heat sink for M2_1 slot was useless, as the spacer hole was actually the case ground hole PCIx_1 was DOA (per title) Buying extra warranty was meaningless Overall Review: Nice board and easy to follow instructions. Knowing parts sometimes fail, getting a replacement has been arduous. Had to go with a Gigabyte board

Pros: I knew the bios would need to be updated so i made sure to get an m flash model, do your homework and make sure its included , or be sure you have an older gen ryzen chip ready to go !Otherwise great looking board, placement for ports and such it a vast improvement over the old asrock board i came from . Cons: for the price and having a gen 4 m.2 slot that doesnt disable sata is a pretty big win. Overall Review: do your home work if you’re getting a ryzen 5000 series chip, otherwise…

Pros: Survived my stress testing Cons: A bit unstable with 2x 3090’s Overall Review: Some initial info. 20+ years of putting together my own pc’s. And 10+ years of test engineering experience. I have thoroughly abused this board. Case Temps 60+ C operating 24/7 for about a year right now. I run 1 or 2 rtx 3090’s in same case spewing out a good 500 to 600w. 2 140mm noctua fans at 2800 rpm and 3 stock case fans 120mm at 1000rpm can barely bring case Temps to 60c. I must have won the capacitor…
