Pros: -Quiet -Sleeved Cables -Modular -Came with jumper to test system without power up entire motherboard Cons: -None so far Overall Review: Great looking power supply. I was a little nervous about the green but its overall very subtle and looks good against the black finish. The LED at the back is also a nice touch. The modularity of the unit is great, allowing you to not have the excess clutter of unused cables. I like the switch that activates the “Eco Mode” Fan Control. This allows the…

Pros: I just finished building my PC after a long search for the best possible parts; The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G5 fits my needs perfectly. – The fan has been completely silent in my system, providing a ton of power with silence. – The sleeved cables are awesome quality. – The greed LED indicator lights up differently depending on it’s state (pulsing for in use, solid for idle). This is a handy little feature for physically seeing the current state of the supply. – The ECO mode switch is…

Pros: – 10 Year Warranty (+3 years over the SuperNOVA G3s at this wattage) – Small Footprint (same as G3s) – 135mm fan vs 130mm fan on G3s – EVGA customer service is generally known to be the industry’s best Cons: – The internals are not made by Super Flower (unlike the G3s) which is generally regarded as the best in industry. FSP makes the G5 generation and don’t share such a high reputation. – Poor cable wrapping on the modular cables. The cable wraps are so loose I can easily see through…

Pros: Modular PSU Long power cable 10 year warranty Cons: A strange sound does rev up with this PSU. It sounds like a low rhythmic hum going in and out. I’m not sure what it is. I don’t think it’s not coil whine. I have a clean setup, and all screws are tight, so I don’t think it’s vibration. It’s definitely from inside the PSU, placing my hand on the outside does not stop the sound, but if I tap on the unit it will stop making the noise for about 30 seconds. I’ve never done a RMA before,…

Pros: This is a good power supply with plenty of connectors. At this point it has been connected for two weeks and been running 24/7 without a problem. (The machine has been rebooted many times during that period due to various software installs and hardware configuration changes) Cons: The only con is each SATA cable splits off into three connectors and it would be nicer if they were a little longer. It forced me to use two main sata cables to connect two HDDs and one SSD. Overall Review:…

Pros: PC works Cons: Unbearable buzzing noise Overall Review: Unbearable buzzing noise probably due to the coil whine. Very hard to concentrate to do work at home when you need it the most. Disappointing.

Pros: It powers on, looks nice and robust, installs easily. Cons: Within 10 days of usage coil whine developed. Every 4-5 seconds for an extended period of time this sound will occur. Loud enough to pierce through the sound of your monitors and at times even your headset. Through a quick search this is also a reported defect on the manufacturers forums. Overall Review: Don’t risk buying this.

Pros: It worked great for about 7 months Cons: -The power supply blew up after the aforementioned 7 months Overall Review: I been using my brand new computer for 7 months with no troubles; running demanding games, watching streams, talking with friends and often all at the same time without an issue. But one day I was just watching a stream on Twitch and drawing on Clip Studio Paint and the power supply just died on me, for no particular reason and turns out it also killed my RTX 2060. I’m…
