Pros: Lots of outlets, a “master” power plug can shut power off to peripherals when the tower is off. Fit and finish seem very good. Cons: The instructions did not say that the battery comes disconnected from the factory. It stumped me for a minute. Overall Review: Good choice.

Pros: interfaces with NUT on NAS4Free server perfectly Cons: none

Pros: Very easy to setup, easy digital display, setup with Nas4Free and Freenas was relatively painless Cons: the thing is heavy, but that is to be expected. Overall Review: Glad i purchased them for my home NAS system.

Pros: Everything works as it should, build quality is solid. Cons: Emits a constant hum that can be distracting in a quiet room.

Pros: Well packed manufacturer packaging. Very clear multi-lingual user manual that is well worth the time reading the few pages in your chosen language. Very clear warning markers attached to UPS. Very difficult to install and use this unit without seeing the warning marker to connect the internal batteries. Silent operation; it does not have any fans on/in it that I can tell. Novel “master slave” outlet pairing. Lose power to the “master” device and the “slave” device turns off immediately. The manual tells me this feature is disabled by default, but read the user manual carefully to fully understand it’s operation. Cons: It is HEAVY. Place this unit on a very sturdy shelf. Ask for assistance if needed because of it’s weight. Obvious odor of a “new unit” that slowly goes away over time. Do not place this unit in an enclosed room because that will contain the odor. I have noticed similar odors from other UPS units that I have bought. It must be “that new battery smell” that’s added at the factory! Do not expect this unit to be fully charged when shipped. My unit was around 75% charged and needed a few hours to “top up” to a full charge. None of these items are worth taking off any eggs. Overall Review: Yes, the unit is advertised as having 10 outlets, but not all of those outlets are connected to the internal battery in the event of a power outage. Some of the outlets are “surge suppressor only” outlets that turn off when commercial power is lost. Plan your installation appropriately. I find this unit is fine for being a power backup to a server and associated monitor with more than adequate “runtime” to power down the server once commercial power is lost. I mainly bought this unit for it’s “surge suppression” and “line interactive” features since my commercial power is fairly reliable, but having the backup battery function is nice. I am using the “NUT” free power monitoring software on my Linux server. The UPS is attached via the included USB cable. The version of “NUT” (2.7.3 in my case) that I am using easily supports this unit using the “usbhid-ups” driver from the “NUT” software package. Interesting note: my unit was 6 months old when it arrived “new” (and in a fully “sealed box” also) at my doorstep according to the manufacturer’s own package labels. I would consider buying this unit and using this manufacturer’s products again if necessary.

Pros: The price as it was on sale, good reputable company, quiet. Eaton is a big company that deals a lot in the automotive industry which is how I know of them. Cons: Included instructions are mediocre at best, it tells you to read the instruction manual first and there is nothing but one diagram that even remotely shows you how to connect the battery, again no instructions just a picture. Once you slide the front panel off you just connect the two plugs together and it will spark when you energize the system, nothing to be alarmed about just need to be aware of it. Also this beast is really heavy due to the two batteries that’s installed. Overall Review: I had purchased an APC unit which has been OK for the most part other than I did not get one properly sized for my setup and ended up needing a larger unit. The APC was rated 1080va 650w which honestly I did not think I was using even close to that much power but for most everyday use it was fine. I found that when testing my system using benchmarks to see what the max. usage is and it was drawing up to 800w and that’s just the pc, lcd monitor, speakers and nothing else connected to the unit. The Eaton unit handles it all with ease and I’ve connected a few more devices as well such as ext. hard drive and phone charger. I had decided that if this unit wasn’t large enough that I was going to go up to the next sized one at 1500va 1050w but as it stands right now I don’t think I’ll need too.

Pros: -Bulky and heavy, I can store other small object on top of it easily like a small switch and a raspberry pi without worrying about knocking it over -UPS seems to work as advertised, unplugged it with all my devices connected and it keeps them powered with about 28 minutes of battery life at full charge -Simple display screen to monitor wattage draw, battery life remaining, etc. Cons: -Manual is a little on the vague side, especially about what certain symbols on the display panel mean Overall Review: Overall strong UPS, does what it’s supposed to do with more than enough power to support a decent computer and its peripherals to give you enough time to shut things down during an extended power outage or carry you through brief blips in power service.
