Pros: Very easy to set up, great all in one addition to any home or office. Clean printing for both documents and photos. Dual tray for different size paper. Scans from both top feed and flatbed and works well with Google Cloud and Air Print Cons: None that I’ve found. Overall Review: This printer replaced another Canon printer that I had for 7 and 1/2 years. Very impressed with the overall functions and quality of this printer. I can print from every device I have (Asus Tablet, iPhone, iPod, desktop and laptop computers) with no problem either via USB connection or wireless. Integrates well with Air Print and Google Cloud. Fax also works well with standard land line and even through MagicJack.

Pros: Excellent for printing CD labels, and I print a LOT of CD/DVD labels! Excellent for printing photographs… once you get your settings right the photos are excellent. I have never had a glitch using it on my wireless network with 3 different computers. Setup is straight-forward. Most of the complaints I see are from folks that are not paying attention to setup details or just do not make the effort to learn how to use such a feature-rich device. You need some persistence and skill to use any such device effectively. Cons: Ink is fairly priced for pages of output I get, but really seems to run through cyan and magenta faster than the other colors… even if I am printing primarily gray-scale documents. I feel that the cartridges on these colors should be a little larger in order to be more in sync with page output of the other cartridges. Overall Review: First page printing is slower than it should be and it takes a while to calibrate itself every now and then. Seems like this calibration uses some extra ink. I have owned Canon, HP, Samsung and Brother color ink jet printers for more than 10 years and this is one of the best ever for what I use these printers for.

Pros: It printed well while it worked. Cons: This printer, not quite a year after purchase, out of the blue, displays the dreaded and infamous print head is not correct error. Google “Canon Print Head Class Action” for more details. Unfortunately, this printer is not included in the class action, but it should be, because it displays the exact same behavior as the machines described in the suit. Overall Review: Avoid this printer unless you like working on broken junk.

Pros: This thing is surprisingly awesome. I was just looking for a cheap color printer for when I needed to print some color things. I use a cheap laser printer for black and white. The images this thing prints out are great looking especially on photo paper. The scanning part is great too. the automatic document feeder works great. Adobe acrobat knew how to scan with it. Uses individual color inks and black. Something I like. I usually shy away from inkjets because a lot of them have combined color ink carts which always seem to run out of one color first and you’re wasting the others. Cons: The software that comes with it is a little odd, bloaty, and invasive. But, whatever, I use Adobe products for most of my creative needs. Overall Review: The printer is much larger than I was expecting. Admittedly it was an impulse shell-shocker deal buy and I didn’t fully look at the product page. I just saw it was a cheap color printer and came with a free 3D printing pen.

Pros: Functions all seem to work. Uses same cartridges as my MG5520. Has tray for photo paper. Cons: It is HUGE. Very NON intuitive – software and hardware. Gloss surface on keyboard is terrible, no matter how clean your hands are, it marks the surface and is very visible. WiFi connection is weak. Printing directly on disk very cumbersome Overall Review: I have owned several Canon printers and multi-function machines. I would rate my iP3500, iP4600, and MG5520 all 5 stars. All functions on this machine seem to work, but software is very non-intuitive. It seems that you have to use the “image garden” supplied software {terrible excuse for label software) to print directly on a disc. To get good result, have to generate the label with other software and then import the jpeg into Image Garden. Lastly the WiFi is weak. Our structure is about 30×70 feet and 3 floors. I have computers and wireless devices scattered on all 3 floors with no connection problems. I have to be within about 10 – 15 feet from this printer to connect.

Pros: Setup was super easy. I connected the printer to my wireless network without having to install software or connect to a computer via USB. Cons: It is big and heavy. Very slow when printing front and back. Overall Review: Was able to to install on Windows 8.1 and 10 without downloading drivers. You can install on Windows 7 without installing the Canon suite. After running the EXE from Canon just browse C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp The drivers will be extracted to a folder in there (look for the newest folder created) then close the suite installer.
