Pros: I wanted a color laser printer that would easily print double-sided. This printer is HUGE but works so well. I’ve had it since March and the ink is still great. I use it nearly every day, but not for huge jobs. Does exactly what I need. Cons: It’s enormous and heavy. Overall Review: I am very happy with this printer. It’s so easy to use, the quality is great, the features are just what I need, and the ink lasts longer than my old inkjet printer.

Pros: I personally like that this printer stays in rest mode; I don’t bother turning it off when I’m done using it just in case I do need to use it again since it works so quickly from rest mode. When it wakes up, it does take a little bit of time to get prepped, but we’re talking maybe 10 seconds or a tad longer. I have yet to deal with the frustrations I had with my inkjet forcing me to do hard resets almost every time I wanted to use it (thank goodness). It prints incredibly fast, even the duplex printing is done in probably half the time (possibly even faster) than my inkjet. I have a small business with my sister, and I do pretty much all the administrative stuff, along with cutting, prepping, packing, and shipping our Etsy orders, so this printer was a major game changer for me. I no longer have to wait 800 years for everything to print. For what we do currently, this printer has been exactly what I was looking for. I can’t complain about the toner either. I have not replaced the toner that came with it yet, and it got delivered back in the beginning of February. Obviously toner cartridges are more expensive than inkjet ink, however, this timespan alone is proof enough for me that it’s already worth the money. A pack of dual black and color ink is usually around $60 or more for genuine cartridges; I’m not going to be upset about spending more on a single high-yield toner cartridge that lasts months. Cons: I found printing envelopes to be a bit tedious on this machine, so I may try to play with it some more to see if I can find an alternate way to print them on it, or just stick to my inkjet for that purpose. The other issue I’ve noticed is that photos within our Etsy packing slips print with poor resolution. I have yet to find a fix for this. It might also possibly be an issue coming directly from Etsy, but I’m not sure of that. I had minor issues on my inkjet with this as well, but my inkjet also had weird color problems. If you need a scanner and copier, this printer is not for you. We did not need any of that, as we don’t really make copies and if I need to scan anything, I can just do that with my phone. I can always print copies from the scan I made, so it’s not a loss for me. Overall Review: I did a lot of research trying to find a new printer; it was actually very difficult, as many were sold out. I came across this one and thought it was a great deal. We didn’t need a scanner/copier, so I knew I didn’t want an MFC. I would definitely recommend this printer to other small businesses looking for a high-end printer without breaking the bank. The quality is great and Brother is a really good brand. Even though it’s not a true laser printer, it prints pretty much the same, and definitely much better than an inkjet. Going from a slow printer to this is a major upgrade. You won’t be disappointed if you’re coming from an inkjet, that’s for sure. I absolutely love this printer and am so glad I was able to find it when I did!
