Pros: – VRMs are beefy and the heatsink is unobtrusive, unlike some other Asus boards with plastic covers on the VRM heatsinks. – Two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots well away from the CPU and PCIe 5.0 card slots (getting better temps for NVMe SSDs than a previous board), and all of the M.2 slots have Q-Latch, no dealing with tiny screws! – Not heavy with the onboard RGB, and it can be disabled in BIOS – Built-in I/O shield – Easy to navigate BIOS even in advanced mode. One-click XMP, and one-click…

Pros: I build computers for a hobby – I really like PC hardware. I am a little addicted. My last one was an MSI X570 with a R5 5600X. I went for early adoption on Z690 as I worried things would just not be available like with Nvidia RTX 30 series cards for example. It was painful in terms of just getting the hardware due to ordering and shipping issues, I work hard at getting the best deal of course but even that didn’t work out. This board is a very well built motherboard, just solid and…

Pros: Running Windows 11, i7-12700k, 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200MHz stable aside from network controller Cons: This motherboard uses an Intel I225-V Networking Controller which has caused network outages, blue screens, and inability to shut down my desktop cleanly. It installed with firmware 1.0.2.4(had issues). Windows 11updated it to 1.0.2.6(had issues). Support website updated them to 1.0.2.14(same issues). I had to buy a $15 PCI Gigabit networking card and disable the onboard ethernet in the…

Pros: Good motherboard Easy to install. Four M.2 NVME slots. Cons: Only one usb 3.0 onboard header. Overall Review: I recommend it

Pros: Handle the 12900k with ease. Overclocking is straight forward. Cons: None so far. Overall Review: This board checks all the required boxes for me.

Pros: – Looks just as cool as ROG variant – Uses DDR4. Cheaper and easier to find. With a good pair of RAM it runs just as good a DDR5. – BIOS feature is the same as my old ASUS Maximus X Hero Cons: – Less LED than ROG variant. But hey.. I paid what I get. Not a real con here. – DDR4. Double-edged sword. It isn’t future proof as DDR5 is becoming the new standard. Overall Review: Good ASUS quality as always. A good LGA 1700 board DDR4 alternative. BIOS offers advanced features as much as ROG…

Pros: Easy straightforward board. Paired with an Intel I7-12700K, Noctua NH-D15S Chromax, 32GB of Viper Steel XMP2.0 DDR3600, and a repurposed Samsung 970 EVO, EVGA GTX 980TI, Crucial SSD, and an 850 Corsair PS. All went together well no issues. Asus’s Amoury Crate is an easy way to insure all of the chipset and other drivers are up to date. Running Windows 11 Pro clean install. Cons: Not really a con, but in my ancient Antec 880 Pro tower case it was a long reach for the SATA 3 & 4…

Pros: – Seems to work eventually Cons: – Didn’t work with ethernet right out of the box like other vendors. Had to manually move drivers by USB. See all the complaints on reddit for more info. – RGB features won’t work without installing Armory Create software which is a huge pile of junky bloatware software. Asus is combining all its software so you have to install all the junk together. – RGB lighting on this version of the board is weak and covered up by GPU. They shouldn’t have wasted…
