Pros: Options packed Looks Price EZ Flash utility Cons: Runs hot No water blocks for this yet Needs firmware update out of the box Overall Review: This is a very capable MB. Pro tip, use the EZ Flash utility to update the BIOS from the BIOS FIRST THING! It appears the MB was built and stocked before the firmware was finished, so the version it comes with can cause problems with setup. Heatsinks are large, but they dissipate a lot of heat. They have caused problems with my radiator placement,…

Pros: It is the middle of the road board but it is one hell of a workhorse. Has just the right amount of RGB to make any lover happy. Easy to install and has all the features you will really need. This board kicks with the best of them. Happy I bought it. Cons: None Overall Review: Recommend this Motherboard to everyone who wants to step up to the next level of technology

  3. Crass

Overall Review: I bought the ASUS Prime Z690-A with a G.Skill 5600 4040C combo from Newegg. The motherboard doesn’t seem to support the RAM and it’s not on the QVL (lots of G.Skill RAM but not this particular model for some reason). It’s possible it might support the RAM after a motherboard upgrade, but you can’t upgrade the motherboard without RAM. There’s no bios flashback and there no error code numbers or even beeps, just a Q-LED that lights up “DRAM”. Buyer beware and beware of getting…

Pros: It arrived quickly. Feature rich bios. Cons: It randomly freezes when idle. Under any load the it runs fine and MeMTest86 checks out (no error). This leads me to think the problem is in the mobo vs in the CPU or Memory. I’ve tried updating the bios to the latest version (2021/12/03) to no avail, it still freezes when idle. Also it freezes under both Windows 11 and Ubuntu, so it is not an OS issue. Overall Review: I think there are some quality issues with this board, given that it…

Pros: – Great specs on paper at this price point. Cons: – Incredibly unstable even at stock speeds with the latest BIOS and multiple CPU/ram configurations. I waited a few months after buying this product upon release hoping they would fix these issues but they have not done so yet. Overall Review: – I’ve bought great things from ASUS in the past but this board is just disappointing with all the Kernal Power errors it throws. …the issue seems to be somewhat common and some people claimed…

  6. ExtremeFlatulence

Pros: Great platform that does almost everything an enthusiast might need. Cons: AuraSync is fussy. Needed special driver from Asus for the OS to see the NVME RAID-5 volume. Overall Review: I would recommend it with the aforementioned caveats.

  7. Richard H.

Pros: Asus quality. Stable, fast. Good layout. Intel NIC. Cons: None. Overall Review: As with any new bleeding edge platform, your first order of business should always be updating the BIOS to the latest version before installing the OS. Use name brand memory. I.E. Corsair. The option to shut off the distracting LED light show is a welcome addition. It’s not for me.

Pros: -Seems like a solid board after initial issues. Cons: -BIOS absolutely MUST be updated. It is very picky about RAM. Overall Review: I cant review the Newegg combo, so I’m putting it here. I bought this board in a combo with G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR5 SDRAM DDR5 5600 Intel XMP 3.0 Desktop Memory Model F5-5600J3636C16GX2-TZ5RS. This ram is not on the boards QVL list, and it would not boot past the BIOS safe mode. I was able to update the BIOS by…
